Candle Holder Luminaries
We've been creating our Candle Luminaries since 1994 - other designs, including Holidays, Christian, Celtic, Animals and Fairies can be see at Ealain Draoi, our primary website.
We also create custom luminaries, and some time ago, we had a customer request a luminary for a friend of hers, who had lost a beloved dog. She told us the lovely story of the Rainbow Bridge, and we created our Rainbow Bridge luminaries based on that story.
The rainbow is translucent and handcolored - with a dark silhouette of a dog breed sitting at the center or to the right of the rainbow.
Originally we tried to create a "generic" dog - but it soon became obvious to us that there is NO such thing. All dogs are individuals- and all dog breeds are uniquely different. So we began creating different luminaries for all the different breeds. We do not, as yet, have a representative of ALL of the breeds, but we are continuously working on it!
The background around the rainbow is opaque, with a finish that is pearlized iridescent, with swirls of colors. The candlelight does not shine through it. The candlelight shines through just the rainbow and illuminates the silhouette. The Rainbow Bridge Candle Holders are stunningly lovely when lit, and a wonderful way to light a candle in memory of your pet.
We have come to understand the way people feel when they have lost a beloved member of their family - and the difficulty that they have trying to make anyone else understand that it was not 'just an animal'. We know, from emails we have received from customers, that many find some comfort in our luminaries and in candle lighting in memory of their pets

Note: Dogs are NOT drawn to scale. While a Greyhound tends to be bigger than a Chihuahua in our silhouettes, if they were to scale, it would require a magnifying glass to see the details that make the silhouette so true to that breed on the smaller breeds.

What are Candle Luminaries?
Ealain Draoi® Candle Holder Luminaries are votive candle holders uniquely different from any other candle holder.
These luminaries are glass and reusable with a very heavy glass base, with our own hand colored translucent artwork against an opaque iridescent background. When the votive candle is lit, the candle light shines through just the artwork illuminating the design with warm candle light.
